This island, situated east of Benoa, is one
of the the most popular one day destinations;
it is 3km x 4 km wide and the offshore coral
reefs make it an excellent spot to dive, snorel
and surf.

To Nusa Penida - duration:
one day.
A much larger island, off the south-east coast
of Bali, population 45,000, with a dry climate.
Great spot to dive and snorkel. Beware of strong
currents, so be safe, don't dive alone!

If you have not tried either of these sports,
we recommend that you start at Sanur or Tanjung
Benoa Beach, where you can hire the necessary
equipment, either right on the beach front,
at a beach club, or at one of the hotel-run
dive concerns. Instruction is available at Dive
Centres. While most of the centres do offer
International (PADI) approval, be sure to check
their PADI Resort Code, as well as insurance
and medical facilities! It is advisable to look
for dive centres that a "five star"
PADI Approval Rating. Please note that Bali's
only decompression chamber is at Sanglah Public
Hospital in Denpasar.
Where to dive...?
East Bali
Gili Tepekong, Gili Biaha and Gili Mimpang -
Only for experienced divers. Other spots are
Amed, Nusa Penida, Tulamben (wreck of USS Liberty),
Padang Bai, Balina Beach.
South Bali
Nusa Lembongan - One of the Bali's biggest dive
sites. Sheltered coral reefs provide outstanding
diving and snorkeling, but be aware of strong
undertows. Nusa Penida - Witness the most diverse
variety of fish and coral, also beware of strong
current.
North Bali
Pulau Menjangan - An island covering 7000 hectares
of coastal waters and coral reef, within the
confines of Bali Barat National Park. Early
morning is the best time to dive. Lovina Beach
- Calm inner reef area. Good place to teach
kids to snorkel.
Ceningan Island - Just off Bali's East
coast. Great snorkeling for beginners and intermediates
as currents are not too strong.

available at Tanjung Benoa and Sanur beaches.

Several professionally-run companies operate
on the Telaga Waja, the Unda and Ayung rivers
graded at ± Grade 3 (Usually a little
more challenging in the rainy season) promising
some wet 'n' wild moments, as well as some instropective,

A number of professional companies cruise you,
in style, to some of the more spectacular islands
in the area. SailSensation has a beautiful boat
that cruises you to Nusa Lembongan and the companies,

certainly a wave for everyone. If you dont have
your own board, check out the tourist beaches

Padang Padang, Nusa Lembongan, and Uluwatu

Ketewel - for intermediates. Best from March
-Sept.
Kuta & Legian beach - good for beginners.
Bali's only water slide park, set in beautiful,
